Move Beyond Cancer
What is it?
Move Beyond Cancer is a community programme supporting Somali, Iranian, and Eastern European communities in North Central London who are living with or have been impacted by cancer. The programme offers gentle, tailored physical activity sessions, walk-and-talk groups, and peer support to help participants stay active, build confidence, and feel connected. The initiative is delivered in partnership between CB Plus, Better by GLL, Centre of Excellence, Romanian Culture and Charity Together, and Yaran Women’s Club.
How can it help me?
Move Beyond Cancer aims to:
-
Provide a safe, supportive space to meet others affected by cancer
-
Encourage physical activity and wellbeing through exercise sessions and walk-and-talk groups
-
Reduce social isolation and improve mental health
-
Share guidance and information about staying active during and after treatment
How do I access it?
Before attending activity sessions, participants are asked to complete a Pre-Session Health Questionnaire to ensure sessions are safe and suitable for individual needs. All information is treated confidentially.
