Financial Advice and Support

Feeling overwhelmed by money worries? Financial problems can adversely impact your mental health. If you’re worried about money, you’re not alone. Many of us are having to deal with financial stress and uncertainty at this difficult time. Whether your problems stem from a loss of work, escalating debt, unexpected expenses, or a combination of factors, financial worry is one of the most common stressors in modern life. 

 

Whatever your circumstances, there are ways to get through these tough economic times, ease stress and anxiety, and regain control of your finances.

Barnet Wellbeing Hub

 

It is a great place to start for debt advice and will put you in direct contact with organisations that will help you. Call and make an appointment with a Wellbeing Navigator who will listen and go through your circumstances to find the best solution for you.

Citizens Advice Centre Barnet

 

Runs a Money Advice Unit, they will give you practical advice and guide you on your next steps. 

  • Advice on any issue, call 0300 456 8365. Monday-Friday 9:15am – 4:00pm, Wednesday 9:15am – 7:30pm

  • Get help claiming Universal Credit please call:  0800 144 8 444 (Freephone) – Monday-Friday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.

Offers Barnet residents' advice on debts, budgeting, and benefits. Tuesday mornings by appointment. 

Discuss your money problems with Stuart at the Rainbow Centre, their experienced money advisor. Prepare a personal budget, listen to information and advice. He can also assist with making telephone calls and writing letters.

The local agency can also provide long-term support if needed to help address some of the issues behind the reasons for your crisis. 

Our foodbank works with several different agencies, such as Citizens Advice, children’s centres, and health visitors.
