Hub Connections

Hub Connections is a quarterly event hosted by the Barnet Wellbeing Service that brings together service users, voluntary and community organisations, health professionals, commissioners, and other key stakeholders. It’s a space to connect, collaborate, and celebrate the wide range of wellbeing services and support available across Barnet.

Each event showcases local initiatives, shares updates from the sector, and highlights the collective effort to improve the health and wellbeing of our community.

Breast Cancer Awareness Event

To mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Barnet Wellbeing Service partnered with the Centre of Excellence to host a powerful event at Grahame Park Community Centre.

Attendees heard from experts at Royal Free London about the importance of screening and the TLC method–Touch, Look, Check. Dr. Nadira Ali shared practical tips on lifestyle changes to reduce cancer risk, while Heather from Breast Cancer Now spoke about the Generations Study.

The highlight of the day was Mirabell’s moving account of her breast cancer journey, reminding us of the power of knowledge, self-advocacy, and strength.

Together, we created a supportive space for learning, sharing, and taking action.

Zero Suicide Alliance Lunch & Learn

In partnership with Public Health, we host the Zero Suicide Alliance Lunch & Learn event, which brings together over 100 attendees. The session features a range of guest speakers who support participants in reflecting on and exploring approaches to suicide prevention in Barnet.

As part of the event, attendees also take part in Zero Suicide Alliance training – equipping them with the skills to have potentially life-saving conversations with someone in crisis, whether a loved one, colleague, or stranger.
